Things are Changing. . .

We sold Big T's bunk beds and  went bed shopping for him yesterday.  The hubbs and I delivered the bunk beds on Saturday morning and Big T will be riding the sofa in the mean time.  We found a really nice bed with a dresser and mirror.  Sprat got a new bed when he moved into what use to be the playroom from this same place.  We also got our double recliner a couple years ago from them.  They have a wide variety of furniture for every room at reasonable prices.
Now I have to clean Big T's room so that the new furniture can go in his room.  I hate cleaning!!   I have watched those remodel/un-clutter shows where they take everything out of the room on to the lawn and you have to justify everything that goes back in the house.  I wish I had the nerve to do that.  I think I could get better organized if I did. Right now, I just go through things a little bit at a time and find things the kids do not want or need or cannot wear and donate them or take them to someone that I know that has kids that fit that size or age.  I have two bags of clothes and two pairs of shoes to take to work for one of my co workers.  We are also getting rid of some toys the boys have out grown, that is hard.  They are ready to throw everything out and dear old mom over here has a sentimental attachment to everything.
Sprat and Big T were both into Thomas the tank engine and so we had all of the Thomas the tank stuff and I wanted to keep some of it for possible grand kids, much much later down the road.  They are great wooden trains and the tracks and the books. All of that takes up space and the hubbs and the kids would like to throw it all out and I just cannot bring myself to do that.

Funny How Things Happen. . .

My husband says I am sort of nesting, and no I am not pregnant, he says I am nesting because I have been cleaning.  I think part of me is just trying to stay busy so I am not dwelling on the job front and missing Sprat this week.  The hubbs is not complaining he was just making an observation.
This morning I decided I would start cleaning out the kitchen cabinets.  I threw so much junk away, I was amazed at how much has accumulated in the ten years we have been in this house.  I am not going minimalist yet, but I am getting rid of some junk.
The Hubbs and Big T took the boat out yesterday for a little fishing.  It was so hot, they had a few nibbles but no real takers.  Big T is enjoying being the only child this week, he loves fishing with his daddy.   Sprat likes fishing too but he likes to fish off the dock or pier rather than in the boat.  Me personally, I had rather deep sea fish, that is what I grew up doing.  I only started fresh water fishing when I met my hubby.
A little note on the job front.  Several more phone interviews for various positions, I am praying for God's hand to be in whatever offers come our way.   The majority of these opportunities will involve a move and we are all a little timid about that.  This may be what God has in mind for us though, so we are praying and keeping the faith.   The d365 devotion for yesterday, I feel, was written specifically for me.  It talked about planning and being in control and how God is really in control.  If I have learned one thing from my sweet hubby's displacement, it is that God is in control and we are living in faith that He will put us where He wants us to be.

Let's Clean up those extra files

Have you ever really looked at your files?  I looked at mine the other day and I realized I had some duplicate files.  I actually had quite a few duplicate files.  Guess what?  There is help to clean that up.  Check out www.auslogics.com  look at their "duplicate file finder."   Remember if I suggest it, that it is safe and more than likely Free.
Sorry I was late posting today.  Like everyone else I am trying to get all my shopping and wrapping done.  As Christmas is fast approaching my posts may slow down but, please stay tuned because I will get back on track as soon as I can.

Life is back to normal. . . . ha ha ha ha ha. . . .

What is normal, exactly?  I don't think my house has ever been normal and I am ok with that.  My house is clean it is not neat or orderly.  I have two wild and crazy boys so I have at any time during the day at least 3 pairs of shoes in my living room floor (none of which are mine).   I have at least 4 sweatshirts hanging by the front door.   I always have laundry just waiting to be washed and also waiting to be folded and put away.   I have magazines stacked in the floor that I want to read and don't have time.  I have bags of yarn laying around to knit and crochet prayer shawls, scarves, and dish cloths.  I have books stacked on my stairs going up to the boys bedrooms.  These are books we read and look at during the day and before bed.  I have at least 3 Bibles and 3 different devotional books on my coffee table in my living room.  I have 3 computer security text books in the floor by my end tables in the living room.  We are book loving family.  We all have our own taste in books and of course have a plethora to choose from around the house.
I guess what I am saying is my house is no neat and is no show place.  We live here.  I do not want to live in a museum and I don't want my kids to grow up that way.  Yes, I wish my house were more neat and orderly but, I would rather spend time with my kiddos than clean my house.  I guess when they go back to school I will have to get to cleaning.   Some say, hire a cleaning lady.  I would have to clean my house before I let anyone in to clean.  That kinda defeats the purpose of a cleaning lady.
For now both boys are back home and the craziness resumes.    We will have a week of down time and then the following week starts football camp and mission camp.  Sprat will get to participate in mission camp this year and he is really excited about it.  Check back for updates on mission camp.
